The AW-series housing is UV-proof, but the inlet connection, bracket interface, hook-and-loop seams, and exposed joints accumulate UV degradation, debris, and moisture over time — especially in climates with hard winters or intense sun. The 600D Oxford fabric is heavier-duty than standard polyester covers, with a waterproof coating that sheds rain and snow and an anti-UV layer that prevents the cover itself from cracking or fading. The hook-and-loop tape at the base keeps the cover seated in wind without bungee cords or additional hardware. Slips on and off without tools.

Installation & Use Notes
- Installation: Slip cover over reel from top, align base with hook-and-loop tape, press to secure — no tools required
- Removal: Release hook-and-loop tape at base, lift cover off — hose can remain retracted inside reel during storage
- When to use: Install when reel is not in active use — particularly during winter storage, extended periods of direct sun, or high-debris environments
- Winterization: Drain and retract hose fully, disconnect inlet, then install cover — cover prevents debris and moisture accumulation in the inlet port during off-season storage
- Cleaning: Wipe with damp cloth — do not machine wash; waterproof coating may degrade with detergent washing
